ProjectVault streamlines a 7-year construction project for housing association

First Wessex Homes is a housing association providing homes and services within local communities throughout Hampshire and parts of Surrey. It works closely with residents and surrounding communities to deliver high- quality homes and services. It manages and maintains around 20,500 affordable homes for rent or purchase; developing over 300 new homes each year.

The Challenge


First Wessex Homes manage a number of housing association projects and builds in any given year. These can range from short projects to those spanning up to and above seven years. They involve the management of numerous contractors, designers, architects, engineers and builders as well as all the build permissions and approvals needed from local authorities. These projects are costly: the build in question was a £100m seven year neighbourhood renewal programme, and the risk and room for error was very high given the timeline and size of the programme. First Wessex Homes needed a management solution to control the project at every stage and simplify the complexity of the task at hand.

Creating a single point of contact for multiple partners working on a project, the system collates all documents and information onto a platform that can then be accessed and shared. Not only is the system secure but it also creates ef ciencies and limits the opportunity for error - a factor that can be devastating to a construction project of this size.
